In this world of animals, the regions used to be at war with each other. Thankfully brave animals from each region united for peace and formed the Venture Society. The Venture Society is a world wide organization dedicated to helping others and encouraging harmony with your fellow animals, and you're invited to join. An all ages, non-violent RPG focusing on building communication, social, & emotional skills.

One Week of Venture Society

We are officially one week into our campaign and things are progressing along nicely. As of right now we are over 2/3 funded and over 220 backers. Thank you & welcome! 

Earlier we said that we would wait until we are closer to the funding goal to announce stretch goals and that time is now! 

$19,000 - Funded! Plus get form-fillable & printer friendly character sheets! 

$20,000 - Add 16 more cards to the adventure prompt card deck 

$21,000 - Add a TEACHER FOCUSED mini-campaign of 4 adventures 

$22,000 - Add new PDF adventure written by Michelle Nephew of Atlas Games

At 72 hours into the campaign and we are over 56% funded. Thank you for the early support! Our goal is set at $19K to ensure we can offer the best quality products and we are holding off announcing stretch goals until we get closer to that milestone. Your Questions Answered

Over the last 2 days we have gotten a few questions so we wanted to address them here in case anyone else was also wondering.   

What is the target age for Venture Society? 

While the game IS all ages, it is targeted at 5-12 year cognitive level. 

How to I sign up to receive a donated copy from the "PLAY IT FORWARD LEVEL"? 

The explanation for the Donation Fund is listed on the campaign page right below rewards. However, here is the information again:  

9th Level Games will start a Venture Society donation fund. Your donated  copy will go into our donation fund to be sent to libraries, schools,  camps, therapy offices, after-school programs, and more.  No shipping  will be charged on that copy. 

If you are looking to be added to our  donation list to receive a copy for your organization please fill out  this FORM.

Play it Forward Pledge

How can I change my pledge or choose to add-on other items? 

  • When logged into Kickstarter choose Manage Your Pledge. 
  • Then choose Change Your Pledge. 
  • Here you will confirm your reward level amount.    
  • Once your reward level is confirmed you'll see the Configure Reward page which is where you select and deselect Add-ons.  
  • Click Continue when finished to confirm.    
  • Still having issues? Message us. The Kickstarter Add-on feature can  be tricky. The mobile app may be tougher for add-ons than a browser.

Thank you for a great first day of the campaign! As we sit here 24 hours into the campaign we are 41% funded, a great start!

Meet the team behind Venture Society

 🐈‍⬛ Heather O'Neill is the CEO of 9th Level Games, Managing Director of UNPUB (The Unpublished Games Network) and a game designer. As part of this design team, Heather is also acting as the project manager and offering insights on production, marketing, theme and ensuring this game is fun for all who play.

🦝 Timothy Grant is a Director at Gaming Approaches Towards Education (GATE) focusing on games, their mechanics, and how to use them in therapy. Timothy helps run groups in a two-facilitator model with a licensed professional, using games as a tool for therapeutic change.  Timothy is heading up the design team to ensure the game flows well, is easy for inexperienced game masters and is overall fun for the players involved.

🐘 Erin Gilbert teaches 4th Grade in Connecticut. She is also a Co-Director and the Teacher Consultant for Youth Programs for the Central CT Writing Project, through which she has presented both nationally and internationally on the importance of creativity, choice, and permission in writing instruction. Erin is serving as the Education Consultant for Venture Village and also jumping into some of the writing elements, as well.

🦥 Dr. Brian Quinones, EdD, is a licensed professional counselor who received his doctorate in Counseling Psychology and Argosy University. He uses an integrative gameplay approach to help individuals find healthier ways to think, feel, and behave in their daily life. Owner of Gaming Approaches Towards Education, LLC, Brian developed our approach to Venture Village and  is working on the Therapist's Guide for the game
